Epic Haunted House

There is probably the best haunted maze I have ever been to that is privately owned and is located right down my block.

Here's a video of KTLA covering the location about two years ago...it has improved a lot since then.

I'm not sure if all of you are familiar with the So Cal area of the US, but there are amusement parks that transform into a horror park filled with all kinds of mazes and monsters that walk around and scare the crap out of you.

The one down the block beats all that, hands down. It incorporates so many effects and perspectives than any other "professional" maze I have seen. I was really impressed with the fact that you choose three directions when you hit the middle of the maze, leading you in two different mazes, the third one is a trick door that shoots fire at you.

The actors systematically scare you...I've seen one couple where they hid the husband away from his wife and left his wife all alone as the lights came back on...how scary is that for the chick??? It's amazing they put so much effort into it.

Probably the one where the got me is where they had the lights turn on and off so that it's pitch black for approximately 5 seconds...and then a monster appeared in front of my face... AHH

The part I "enjoyed" most is they had a TV playing THE RING video of Samara coming out of the well, and they actually had an actor crawl out of the "TV" (it was actually a projector and a screen) but the effect isn't over yet! They had two actors play Samara...they had one actor come out the tv and dissappear somewhere and they had another Samara come out from another direction, something totally I did not expect and shrieked...it brought back teenage memories of first watching the movie.

I saw one fellow piss his pants...no lie

Hands down, the best haunted maze in So Cal.

  2. Pretty impressive for a personally haunt. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to go into the business professionally at some time.

  3. I've only ever been in one "haunted house" type place. People in my school would all talk about Haunted Hotel, which they had to because it was the only one around. When I went there it was lame, I never understood how any of it was frightening. It was mostly fat ex-football players from my school dressed up in bad costumes. My friend's dad went through and got really scared, and pissed for some reason. On our way out he flipped the breakers for the building and ran and left us kids there. I think that was the scariest experience of that night.

  22. I'm not usually the haunted house type - psychological terror and disturbing concepts are a lot more scary to me than jump-cuts and screamers ever were. But that place looks pretty boss.

  41. Ahhh no thanks! I get scared too easily ;_; I still get scared at The Haunted Mansion at Disney World >_>

The worst maze(probably meaning best for people who like them) I've ever been in was actually a bunch of chain link fences under a huge tent. They had fog machines and a strobe light which made it impossible to find your way out, and scary guys walking around - the worst part was that you could see them, but since the chain link was so hard to navigate, you had no idea if they would be able to jump at you or if you were safe.

I also found out later that I am photosensitive (meaning strobe lights fuck up my brain) and someone thank god got me out of there, but I actually sat down outside of the maze afterwards to get my bearings, looked up a minute later and all my friends were totally gone - It turned out i had been sitting there for 2 hours and didn't realize it and my dummy friends didn't notice I was missing.

  45. I'm a real wimp when it comes to scary things, especially when things jump out from nowhere. I'd probably cry just waiting in line, just imagining how scary it would be haha.
